PRATER HISTORY
This is a website dedicated to my PRATER ancestors. My grandmother is a Prater. Through my searching, I have been able to determine that my Praters originated from England. From an oral interview with my Great Grandmother, Lila Severson Prater, I have learned that the Praters landed at Ellis Island, then migrated to Michigan. Paw Paw, Van Buren County, Michigan was the place that my ancestors lived and worked.
I owe some thanks to all those Prater researchers out there on the WWW that helped me. There are other Prater sites on the web that I have listed below. However, I have found that 90% of all Prater researchers are descendants of Thomas Prather (Prater). However, at this time I have not been able to connect my Praters to any of the Thomas Prather (Prater) lines. I would also like to thank Gary Benton Prather for all of his tireless help in answering my questions via e-mail.
